It’s very rare that people anticipate a spin-off of a spin-off, but that’s the case with the upcoming series, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. As The Big Bang Theory‘s spin-off, Young Sheldon, comes to a close this May, fans are already prepped for a continuation of the Sheldon-verse with the new series starring Montana Jordan as George (Georgie) Cooper Jr. and Emily Osment as Amanda Elizabeth (Mandy) McAllister. The first teaser for the show has been released, and you can watch it above. It kind of softens the blow of an increasingly emotional Young Sheldon season seven.
The show from Steve Holland, Steven Molaro, and Chuck Lorre already teases drama with its very title. We know that, by the time of The Big Bang Theory, Georgie is a successful owner of Dr. Tire, a chain of tire stores. But between their engagement in season six of Young Sheldon and the start of The Big Bang Theory, several things obviously go awry with Georgie and Mandy’s relationship.
The two stars have been mostly quiet about the new series, which makes sense considering they’re busy promoting the final season of Young Sheldon. “We’ve just been focusing on this show and giving it everything that it deserves going out in its final season,” Osment told TVLine. “We can only really focus on this right now because that’s what’s in front of us, and we’re really excited to get going on something new.” Osment wrote on Instagram:
“So thrilled to finally be able to celebrate this wonderful news I share with the best fake husband a girl could ask for…. Huge thank you to our Steves and our Chuck for putting their faith in us as well as my whole team for working tirelessly to make my everlasting multi-cam dreams come true. Stick around y’all, the story continues.”
