Netflix is widely considered the grandfather of streaming services. However, its popularity has taken a hit in recent years, as October 2023’s price increase saw the Basic plan rise to $11.99/month in the U.S., and 2024 is expected to see more of the same. Still, this mainly seems to have affected its reputation, as its crackdown on password sharing last year actually resulted in millions of new subscribers.
Subscribers are joining or staying primarily due to the vast catalog of movies and TV shows available. Netflix is also constantly adding new properties, including Netflix originals, so the promise of more is worth the cost for many. Sometimes, though, the licensing for an existing property expires. Or, if a contract is up for renegotiation, they have to make the tough decision to let something go for one reason or another. That’s what’s happening behind the scenes when your favorite show or movie vanishes from the site.
So, what’s going to disappear from Netflix in July 2024? Well, a couple of the 1984 classics from Netflix’s “Milestone Movies” initiative will expire, as will several other blockbuster favorites. In their place, though, will be a batch of 1994 classics. As far as TV series are concerned, here’s a list of series from thrillers to children’s animation leaving the site.
Masha’s Tales & Masha’s Spooky Stories

Masha’s Tales is the first spinoff of the children’s series Masha and the Bear. It’s a Russian-language cartoon starring a little girl named Masha. She is portrayed as smart and kind, albeit mischievous. She tells fairy tales for her toys, often mixing stories from more than one until it takes on a plot of its own. Even the morale can change, with the heroes becoming “bad guys” or vice versa.

Turkish TV series 46 Yok Olan is a mystery/thriller with an unusual style. The premise is that a genetics professor is searching for a cure for his comatose sister. He blends medical and shamanic remedies and tests these on himself so as not to harm her. In doing so, he unlocks a shocking side effect. What results is a tragic, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde-like plot. The lead is played by Erdal Beşikçioğlu, who, in addition to being an actor, is also the mayor of the Etimesgut district of Ankara. 46 leaves Netflix on July 1.
Learning Songs by Little Baby Bum

Learning Songs by Little Baby Bum is yet another animated series leaving the site. This one is aimed at preschool audiences and is part instructional, part musical – similar to Cocomelon. Simple songs for a pre-reading audience mix with colorful animation in an effort to introduce children to concepts such as colors, animals, numbers, and vehicles. Learning Songs by Little Baby Bum leaves Netflix on July 1.
Oh My Baby

Oh My Baby is a Korean drama series about Jang Ha Ri, the ultimate workaholic who hasn’t so much as dated in a decade. However, being a senior reporter at a parenting magazine, she gets constant reminders about something she badly wants: a baby. It stars Jang Na-ra, a prolific actress and singer with a history in both the Korean and Chinese entertainment industries. You may know her from such projects as Sell Your Haunted House, The Last Empress, or My Happy End.

Top Gear Seasons 29 and 30 were specifically shot during the beginning of the pandemic, with changes made to the production to suit everyone’s health and safety. The result was that there was no studio audience or celebrity visit aspect, which could be why these seasons are now being omitted. Top Gear Series 29 and 30 leave Netflix on July 31.
