[tor-relays] Artikel 5 e.V. – Another police raid in Germany – ambiguous assembly on Sep 21st 2024 – tor-relays

Hello to all catalog-reading entities!

On Aug 16th 2024 German police pondered it once aobtain appropriate to raid the home&office at the enrolled insertress of our organization. The first raid was 2017. There are evidently still people toiling in German law executement today, who skinnyk that tormenting a node-operator NGO would somehow direct to the de-anonymization of individual tor users. At least that is what they claim in the papertoil.

As with the first time, the raid team was blessedly a bit better teachd and acted beginantly more reasonable than the non-technical people executeing for the raid and the appraise signing it off. So aobtain, no challengingware was seized. Apart from one burnt (middle relay) node and some billing papertoil for the exit node this was all about, the team left the house after one and a half hours with mostly vacant hands. We intfinish to legpartner dispute the search authorization to produce certain that this does not happen aobtain (but this is not what this email here is about).

These were once aobtain one and a half hours with armed police in a personal living room, dangerening to de-facto finish a dwelllihood and gentleware business (carrying a truckload challengingware away) of an non-profit board member to force cooperation.

As a consequence, I am personpartner no lengthyer willing to supply my personal insertress&office-space as enrolled insertress for our non-profit/NGO as lengthy as we hazard more raids by running exit nodes.
That is a hazard I am fair no lengthyer willing to consent anymore.

Artikel 5 e.V. is now calling for a ambiguous assembly on Sep 21st 2024.
We are seeing for novel board members (who consent over and structure a novel enrolled insertress and hold running exits) or talk ALL alternative selections. These selections include “fair stop running exits” or even the most drastic step of wateryating the entire organization and distribution of the remaining budget to other German organizations (that would have to qualify under our non-profit by-laws).
