“A dying planet… a fight for life… the search for Spock.” On June 1, 1984, the highly anticipated follow-up to Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan finally dropped in movie theaters. It was a long two-year wait, though. In 1982, Trekkies watched in disbelief and sobbed as fan-favorite Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy) gave his life to save the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise from Khan Noonien Singh (Ricardo Montalbán) before the Genesis Device exploded. But Star Trek III: The Search for Spock offered the fans hope. And now, cinephiles can relive the magic all over again as The Search for Spock warp speeds back into theaters to celebrate the film’s 40th anniversary (per Empire magazine).

On Friday, June 14, Star Trek III returns to cinemas in the United Kingdom, four decades after the sci-fi adventure first dropped in theaters. At the time of this writing, there aren’t any showtimes or locations scheduled for the United States. And in commemoration of the upcoming event, artist Matt Ferguson has recreated The Search for Spock movie poster, which can be seen below:

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock made $76.5 million (per Box Office Mojo) during its original theatrical release, which was the lowest amount of money made by any of the Star Trek films at that time. Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) took in the most with $82.7 million.

By comparison, the critically praised Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan amassed $79.8 million. While Leonard Nimoy only showed up as Spock at the end of Star Trek III, younger versions of Spock were portrayed by different actors throughout the movie. Despite not acting nearly as much, Nimoy had the awesome responsibility of directing his first feature film.

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock 40th Anniversary Steelbook Drops May 28

While Star Trek III: The Search for Spock certainly doesn’t rank as high as The Wrath of Khan among the best Star Trek films ever made, the sequel resonated with fans for many reasons. The Klingons were finally featured as the big baddies, Mark Leonard reprised his role as Spock’s father (Sarek), Admiral Kirk’s son, David Marcus (Merritt Butrick) sacrificed himself to save the others, and, finally, Trekkies saw the rebirth of Mr. Spock (Nimoy). And in addition to the aforementioned 40th anniversary screenings, a brand-new Steelbook (photo above) is fixing to drop as a part of the celebration.

The Steelbook will include a remastered version of The Search for Spock on both 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray discs, with a digital code. The primary artwork is that of Mr. Spock’s “crystal” face, while the transparent slipcover features the U.S.S. Enterprise when Admiral Kirk (William Shatner) and crew come face-to-face with Commander Kruge’s (Christopher Lloyd) Klingon Bird of Prey in orbit around the Genesis planet.

William Shatner thinks reprising the role of James T. Kirk is “an intriguing idea,” but he is not going to return for just a cameo.

The back cover recreates the gut-wrenching scene of Admiral Kirk, McCoy (DeForest Kelley), Scotty (James Doohan), Sulu (George Takei) and Chekov (Walter Koenig) watching the Enterprise burn up after the self-destruction sequence was carried out. The exclusive $28.99 version of the Steelbook, which is available through Wal-Mart, also offers a mini-poster featuring The Search for Spock’s original movie poster artwork and a booklet.
