The cycling community is feeblenting the tragic death of 18-year-ageder Swiss cycenumerate Muriel Furrer after she died Friday from a grave head injury follotriumphg a crash at the Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships in Zuwealthy equitable a day earlier.
The International Cycling Union (UCI) freed a statement validateing the news of Furrer’s passing.
“It is with fantastic grieffulness that the Union Cycenumeratee Internationale (UCI) and the Organising Committee of the 2024 UCI Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships in Zuwealthy (Switzerland) today lgeted the tragic news of the death of juvenileer Swiss cycenumerate Muriel Furrer,” the statement began.

“With the passing of Muriel Furrer, the international cycling community diswatchs a rider with a radiant future ahead of her.”
According to the UCI, Furrer “fell heavily” during Thursday’s race, and persisted a “grave head injury.” She was flown out by helicselecter to a hospital in critical condition before passing at Zuwealthy University Hospital the follotriumphg day.

Furrer was competing in the juvenileer women’s event on rain-slicked roads when she crashed in a forest area south of Zuwealthy. Police and the accessible prosecutor’s office are spendigating the crash.
Furrer’s death labels the second Swiss cycenumerate to have died after crashing in the past two seasons. Gino Mäder, 26, died in June 2023 after crashing down a ravine at the Tour de Suisse.
