Secret Video Sees Ryan Reynolds Declare Deadpool & Wolverine ‘is Cinema’ but Will Not Have a Post-Credit Scene

The latest trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine contained a secret message from Ryan Reynolds, which promises plenty of jokes at Hugh Jackman’s expense, attempts to make enemies of Disney, a hint at no post-credits scene, and a sizable swipe at all of those say the MCU is not worthy of the now-classic meme, “This is Cinema.”

For those who have been living in another universe – one that doesn’t have portals, incursions, or fractures in the fabric of reality every few minutes – Deadpool & Wolverine’s tickets are now on sale. In the latest brief promo for this monumental event, a QR code hidden in the trailer was spotted by eagle-eyed fans. On following the code, it leads to a secret message recorded by Ryan Reynolds, who reads from a mobile phone. In his video, he says:

“We’re very excited to be joining you July 26. Many of you are very excited. But we should set the table correctly. This film is as paper thin as a sequel to Battlefield Earth. We’re mostly going to beat each other senseless, make enemies with Disney, tell a few d-ck jokes, make a few jokes at my expense, make a lot of jokes at Hugh’s expense, and completely sidestep Marvel’s mandated after-credits sequence , which if you haven’t figured it out yet, is always just a commercial for another movie which will invariably end with a commercial for another movie. So sit back, relax, let us lower your IQ and raise your heart rate while we travel to a vapid Dreamland, a place where grown men and grown women walk around in tights, and act like it’s not a giant cultural cry for help. This is CINEMA.”

The actor then looks sheepishly at the camera as the video ends. There is already a lot of speculation about what will and won’t happen the upcoming movie, but will it really not have a post-credits scene?

Deadpool & Wolverine’s Creator Has Already Teased an Epic Post-Credits Scene

While there are no certainties in life or cinema, the idea of Deadpool & Wolverine ending cold is not something anyone is really going to take seriously unless it actually happens.
