Ride or Die Early Reactions Arrive, Declare the Action Sequel a ‘Total Blast’

Early reactions to the fourth Bad Boys movie, Bad Boys: Ride or Die, have emerged, with many declaring that the action sequel is “a total blast,” and with praise being heaped on the return of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Taking to social media, those lucky enough to have seen the movie early have shared their thoughts and, so far, they are hugely positive.

“Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are still great at busting each others’ balls, the new mystery is compelling (Eric Dane is a great baddie) and Adil & Bilall’s action sequences are loaded with inventive staging and camerawork.”

Will Smith recently teased the return of the Bad Boys series, declaring that the sequel is “what a summer movie is supposed to be.” Based on these early reactions, he was exactly right.

“I’m very excited about this one. We want it to feel nostalgic, but we also want the characters to be experiencing things that are age-appropriate and experience-appropriate. It’s a challenge to keep it fun and keep it exciting and make sure that the popcorn part is enjoyable, but also letting it be gourmet popcorn. It is popcorn, but it’s definitely got some special sauce on it.”

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s reunion in Bad Boys 4 is predicted to boast the second-biggest opening weekend of the franchise.
