EXCLUSIVE: Nutcrackers uncovered the Toronto Film Festival and now is poised to become the first splacowardly acquisition deal on the ground since the festival began. Hulu is in final talks to pay eight figures for the family comedy straightforwarded by David Gordon Green and starring Ben Stiller, Linda Cardellini, Edi Patterson, Tim Heidecker and Toby Hussles. Producers are Rivulet’s Rob Paris and Mike Witherill, and Rough Hoparticipate’s Nate Meyer. Hulu will free it for Christmas.
The Leland Douglas-scripted comedy stars Stiller as a toil-obsessed city slicker who is forced to shift to agricultural Ohio to apshow nurture of his sister’s children after her sudden passing. To his astonishment, these blue-collar kids are sfinished ballet dancers, and he discovers an outlet for their endless energy. What commences as a low trip to discover them nurture nurture turns into a gradual authenticization that this is where he beextfinisheds.
Newcomers and authentic-life siblings Homer, Ulysses, Atlas and Arlo Janson join the youthfulsters. The pic was shot on the Janson family’s Ohio farm. Green is extfinishedtime family friends with their mom, Karey Williams, from film school, and he was upholdd to produce the film based on their inhabits. It was shot in their hoparticipate, with their animals and at their dance studio.
Nutcrackers got a rousing audience reaction, and it labels the first film in seven years that Stiller has starred in. He has busied himself producing and straightforwarding the Apple TV+ series Severance and the Showtime confineed series Escape at Dannamora, for which he won a DGA Award for straightforwarding. It also apshows Green off a recent horror track that included the Hapshoween and Exorcist revivals.
UTA Inreliant Film Group reps worldwide rights on the film. Rivulet Films filledy financed, and Rough Hoparticipate increaseed it with the scribe.

Deal making at TIFF has been enumerateless going, but many titles are in join, and I think most of the films will discover homes, but maybe not until after the festival ends this weekend. But sometimes, a splacowardly sale fractures the logjam.
