Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage will star in a live-action adaptation of Spider-Man Noir for Amazon Prime Video. A new report by THR has confirmed that the streamer is going ahead with the series, which will see Cage suit up as an “aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York” who has a hidden past life as a superhero.
Alongside the announcement that Spider-Man Noir, or Noir as it is also being referred to, will go ahead, Prime Video has also released a synopsis for the series, which you can check out below.

Noir is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios and comes as part of the expanding Marvel universe currently being developed by the streamer. The franchise is being led by writing and producing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller following their work on the Spider-Verse movies. Thus, Noir is expected to be joined by the likes of Silk: Spider Society, which is now being developed by The Walking Dead’s Angela Kang.

Cage confirmed that talks surrounding a live-action Spider-Man Noir series were happening back in March, with the actor declaring his love for the character.
“Well, I can say that we have been talking. It’s no secret that I love the character. I think the character provides another mash up of sorts. I can combine my favorite golden age performances, i.e. Robinson, Cagney, Bogart, with a character that is, I guess, widely considered [to be] Stan Lee’s masterpiece. I see it as a kind of foray into a pop art mash up of, sort of, a [Jungian] Lichtenstein, mash up by way of Bogart and Cagney, but nothing’s definitive yet. It’s just conversation.”
Cage voiced Spider-Man Noir in the critically acclaimed animated adventure Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and is expected to return to the role in the finale, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
