The series stars Tom Sturridge as Morpheus, the lord of Dreams who was imprisoned for 100 years and returned to find his realm and the world in ruin. As well as following Morpheus as he rebuilds his land and restores balance to the world, the series also focuses on his relationships with his six siblings, who each represent a different aspect of life. Season 1 gave audiences Death (Kirby Howell Baptiste), Desire (Mason Alexander Park), and Despair (Donna Preston).

Fans are desperate to see the entire Endless family on-screen, and Netflix have just announced the casting for the final three members. Joining the family, are Adrian Lester as Destiny (who presides over all fortunes, paths, and choices), Esme Creed-Miles as Delirium (the unhinged, unpredictable youngest sister), and Barry Sloane as the mysterious The Prodigal (a member of the Endless who abandoned his post). The casting was announced via X/Twitter on The Sandman‘s official account. Alongside a video showcasing all seven siblings in costume, the tweet read:

“The Endless have finally assembled: Introducing Adrian Lester as Destiny, Esmé Creed-Miles as Delirium and Barry Sloane as the Prodigal in the next season of THE SANDMAN.

It’s going to be one Hell of a family reunion.”

The Sandman‘s new season has not been given an official release date yet. However, it was announced, via the show’s X/Twitter account, that Season 2 production began late last year – 35 years since the first issue of The Sandman comic was published.

Netflix’s Dead Boy Detectives could be the first of many shows attached to Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman adaptation.

The series failed to establish the viewership foothold Netflix was hoping for, failing to make the No. 1 spot on the streamer’s Top 10, and that could signal a very short run for the series. While Dead Boy Detectives‘ future is bleak, The Sandman‘s is secure. Season 2 is expected to wrap shooting this summer, and fans are hoping for a release date announcement in the coming months.
