Legacy Season 3 (New and Returning)

Legacy Season 3 (New and Returning)

Quick Links

The second season of Bosch: Legacy came to a close back in October 2023, and while Detective Harry Bosch delivered yet another round of compelling cases, fans are already eager for the third season. No official release date is confirmed yet, but the filming is underway. But, in an exciting update, we’ve been given the names of five new actors who will be joining the brilliant cast of Bosch: Legacy for season three.

After Prime Video’s police procedural Bosch wrapped up in 2021 after seven amazing seasons, Bosch fans were blessed with yet another chapter in Harry Bosch’s story with Bosch: Legacy. Not only did it pack up over a decade’s worth of events for Titus Welliver’s character, but Season 1 also introduced us to a now-retired but still very active Harry working as a private investigator.

The first two seasons have been a massive hit. We have witnessed Harry take on nail-biting new cases and chasing down dangerous criminals. At the same time, he’s dealt with demons from his past and family drama. With Bosch at the center of it all, the show has done a fantastic job of tying back some key moments to other main and supporting characters.

Season 3 may drop sometime in 2024 and to say the anticipation is high would be an understatement. This list will give you an early look at some exciting new additions to the cast. While some may be potential allies, others may pose as adversaries. It also gives a preview of characters that will be making their return in the upcoming season.

New

Orla Brady

One of the most versatile actresses in both television and film, Irish-born Orla Brady has made a name for herself in Hollywood by starring in critically acclaimed productions. From playing Siobhan Dillon in Mistresses to Janie Moore in Freud’s Last Session alongside Anthony Hopkins and Matthew Goode, she has brought poise and nuance to every role. She is also known for making a cameo appearance in Agatha Christie’s Poirot and for her recurring role as Laris/Tallinn in Star Trek: Picard.

Rest assured, she has the ability to captivate audiences with whatever role she embodies. This is why her addition to Bosch: Legacy as Siobhan Murphy brings promise. With her accomplished career of depicting strong female characters, Brady can bring the kind of depth that shakes things up in the police procedural.

Michael Reilly Burke

Despite having over 100 credits to his name, Michael Reilly Burke is yet to be known universally for his versatility and seasoned charm. With his expressive features and introspective gazes, Burke has brought to life several roles across many genres for nearly three decades. Some of his early cameos on television include renowned shows like NCIS: Los Angeles, The Vampire Diaries, Grey’s Anatomy, Shameless, Suits, The O.C., Star Trek: Enterprise, and more.

While he also recently played Captain Sweetwater in Netflix’s Griselda, Bruke’s most memorable and only movie lead role of his career has been as serial killer Ted Bundy in the 2002 film Ted Bundy. A critical success, the movie showcased his ability to imbue complex characters with mysterious layers. That’s the vibe fans hope he will bring into Bosch: Legacy as Finbar McShane.

Andrea Cortés

Andrea Cortés only recently broke out in the television landscape with the role of Sofia in the Sons of Anarchy spin-off series, Mayans M.C. Appearing in Kurt Sutter and Elgin James’ crime drama for a total of fifteen episodes, Cortés has proved that she has the ability to inhabit any character with equal parts authenticity and charm. In Bosch: Legacy, she is cast to play Victoria Hernandez.

Before channeling these fascinating new dimensions of acting, Cortés played a bunch of other parts as well. Fans probably know her from Into the Badlands and The Company You Keep, where she played Jennifer West. She was also on the streaming hit On My Block and the medical drama series Chicago Med.

Dale Dickey

An indie film veteran who has worked in theater, film, and television, Dale Dickey made her screen debut back in 1995 with Maria Maggenti’s The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love. Since then, Dickey has starred in a range of unforgettable roles, from Merab, the wife of a drug dealer, in Winter’s Bone to a drug-addicted woman in two episodes of Breaking Bad. Underneath all her characters’ exteriors lie deep and intricate emotions.

Dickey has also appeared in globally renowned movies like Changeling, Iron Man 3, and Hell or High Water. Having breathed profound layers into her recurring characters in TV shows like My Name Is Earl, True Blood, and Justified, there is no doubt that she would lend the same efforts to Bosch: Legacy, wherein she is confirmed to star as Sheila Walsh.

Crime thrillers are among the most popular shows in television. The following list has the best of the best if you’re into this subgenre.

Tommy Martinez

Tommy Martinez is fairly new in the industry when it comes to fame and recognition. As one of Hollywood’s most promising performers on the small screen, he has shown extraordinary skill across television shows with his dedicated and soulful portrayals. A prominent one of those would be Gael Martinez in Good Trouble. Tommy plays the role of a bisexual graphic designer who falls in love with the show’s main character Callie, played brilliantly by Maia Mitchell.

In Bosch: Legacy, Martinez is set to play Albert Torres. As someone who has likely experienced a similar working space because of his guest appearance in NCIS: Los Angeles, Martinez is certain to imbue his character with strength and depth, making sure to offer fans some refreshing dynamics opposite Harry’s unorthodox style.

Returning

Titus Welliver

Speaking of Harry, Titus Welliver (unsurprisingly) returns to reprise his role as the brilliant yet brooding titular detective in Season 3 of Bosch: Legacy, which would officially be his tenth season in the franchise. Welliver has brought the iconic freelance private investigator to vivid life with his emotionally compelling yet sometimes impassive embodiment.

Harry Bosch is a character relentlessly pursuing truth and justice, and even though he’s got personal demons, he takes on new challenges like it’s second nature. Welliver, who finds intricate layers in Harry’s smallest moments, is truly irreplaceable. Now in Season 3, Bosch: Legacy viewers will once more delight in his turn. Harry may be older but his dedication remains fully ignited. Welliver has previously appeared in Suits, Sons of Anarchy, and Deadwood.

Mimi Rogers

As a talented and powerful defense attorney, Mimi Rogers’Honey “Money” Chandler has been a former rival turned unconventional ally to Titus Welliver’s Harry Bosch since Bosch Season 1. She first indulged in an unforgettable cat-and-mouse game with our lead, infusing Chandler with complex shades of humanity. In season three, Rogers’ character is poised to become the next District Attorney of Los Angeles.

As Chandler’s narrative evolves, we’re sure to see her explore newer depths. Rogers also has a celebrated career before Bosch: Legacy, one that spans notable movies like Someone to Watch Over Me and Full Body Massage. Her role in the religious drama The Rapture was a huge hit with the critics, who claimed it was “one of the greatest performances in the history of the Hollywood cinema.”

Madison Lintz

Ever since first appearing as a child in season one of Bosch, Madison Lintz has grown impressively in the role of the titular character’s daughter, Madeline “Maddie” Bosch. Across both series, she has dived into the heart of what makes Maddie so beloved – her fierce energy, warm friendship, wisdom beyond her age, and a deep bond with Harry. Lintz perfectly encapsulates her journey from a young girl to a strong woman.

Season 3 is all set to bring Maddie back and have her face new hardships and unravel mysteries all by herself. Lintz’s talents will undoubtedly bring a much-needed intensity to the character, and her effortless dynamic with Titus Welliver is definitely something we’re looking forward to witnessing. Moreover, Lintz’s impressive career before Bosch, which includes turns in the first two seasons of AMC’s The Walking Dead and Nashville, ensures her devotion to the Bosch universe is to stay.
