Mrs. Claus will be produced by Hello Sunshine’s Lauren Neustadter and Reese Witherspoon, expanding their professional partnership with Garner. Witherspoon, Neustadter, and Garner last collaborated on Apple TV+’s The Last Thing He Told Me, a thriller series about a woman who forms an unexpected relationship with her 16-year-old stepdaughter while searching for the truth about why her husband has mysteriously disappeared. Last month, the series was renewed for a second season. Garner is set to return alongside co-stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Angourie Rice, and David Morse.

Garner has previously starred in the Netflix films Yes Day, The Adam Project (the most popular of all her Netflix projects), and Family Switch. The latter, a comedy swap film led by Garner and Ed Helms, was released just last November.

Mrs. Claus also expands Netflix’s holiday film roster, joining films like Holidate, Love Hard, A Castle for Christmas, and Fallling for Christmas, which are all distributed by the streamer.

Along with The Last Thing He Told Me‘s sophomore season and Mrs. Claus, Garner has several projects in the works, including Max Winkler’s true-crime pic Fruitcake and Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein’s comedy Fantasy Camp. Garner is also reprising Elektra, the Marvel character she first portrayed in 2003’s Daredevil and later in 2005’s Elektra, for Deadpool & Wolverine, scheduled for release on July 26, 2024.

There’s another character that Garner is open to reprising: Sydney Bristow. From 2001 to 2006, Garner portrayed the C.I.A. double agent in J.J. Abram’s critically acclaimed sci-fi series, Alias. During a recent episode of The Ringer’s Dear Felicity podcast (via PEOPLE), the actress was asked if she’d be open to working on an Alias reboot.

“I’m asked for a reboot literally every interview I do, when we’re gonna do it,” she said.

She added:

“Are you kidding? Of course I would. I’d do anything J.J. would direct.”

Alias starred Garner, Michael Vartan as Michael Vaughn, Ron Rifkin as Arvin Sloane, Victor Garber as Jack Bristow, and Bradley Cooper as Will Tippin. Through its five-season run, the series earned many accolades, including Emmy Award acting nods for Garner, Garber, and Lena Olin. Garner received the 2002 Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series—Drama.
