Jay Slater search teams are being joined by expert volunteers after Spanish police issued a call for help in their effort to locate the missing British teenager.
Holidaymaker, Mr Slater, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, disappeared while trying to walk back to his accommodation in Los Cristianos from the village of Masca on June 17.
The Guardia Civil on Friday (June 28) appealed for volunteer associations, such as firefighters and individual volunteers expert in rugged terrain, to help in a “busqueda masiva”, or massive search, to take place on Saturday (June 29).
Spanish police said the search, beginning at 9am in the village of Masca near to the 19-year-old’s last-known location, would be co-ordinated to take in a steep rocky area, including ravines, trails and paths.
It marks the 13th day in the search for the apprentice bricklayer.
