How To Learn Every Incantation (& What They Do)

The Lands Between are brimming with powerful magic, and Elden Ring players have the option to learn over 100 different Incantations on their journey to become the next Elden Lord. These reality-bending Spells can deal massive amounts of damage, but some also provide useful effects like healing, damage negation, and weapon buffs.

[Warning: The following article contains spoilers for Elden Ring & Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.]

Many of Elden Ring’s factions have their own class of Incantations, so players will have plenty of different options to choose from as they progress through the game. Since incantations are Faith-based in Elden Ring, they are separate from the Sorceries that scale with Intelligence, and the Tarnished will need a Sacred Seal to cast them.

How To Use Incantations In Elden Ring

Utilize Sacred Seals & Increase Your Stats To Cast Powerful Incantations

The Sacred Seals required for incantations resemble a wand or small trinket in the right hand. However, while Sacred Seals are technically weapons, they can’t be altered with Ashes of War like most weapons in the game. Casting Incantations also consumes FP and Stamina, so players should level up their Mind and Endurance in addition to their primary Faith stat to cast more powerful Incantations. You cannot use incantations unless you have met their minimum stat requirement and equipped them at a Site of Grace.

While Incantations can be found in chests, looted from enemies, and earned from quests, many can be learned from various NPC tutors in Elden Ring. Brother Corhyn is one of the easiest tutors to find since he sets up shop in Roundtable Hold, but Miriel, Pastor of Vows, will also tutor players from his location in Liurnia’s Church of Vows. However, players can unlock more Incantations by giving them Prayerbooks that can be found throughout the Lands Between.

Dragon Cult
	Electrocharge	Head to the Fog Rift Catacombs and use the second lift down. Continue past the stake of Marika, until you reach a room with a spike in the ceiling. The second alcove on the left will have another lift, use it and then take a left until you enter a room, where you will take another left down a small hallway where two mages are. The Incantation can be found on a corpse in this hallway.	Calls down lightning to charge the caster’s body. While charged, electric shocks will strike the area several times.
	Knight’s Lightning Spear	In the large hall with the set of eyes that inflict deathblight on you, inside the Scorpion River Catacombs, look for a ledge along the right side that will allow you to cross over to the other side. Run along the ledge, keeping close to the wall, and head through the opening behind the eyes. The incantation will be found in the room straight ahead.	Hurls a Lightning Spear at the target while also firing additional projectiles from ancient dragon crests that will hone in on the target.
Erdtree	Aspects of the Crucible: Bloom	Found on a corpse near the Giant Miranda Sprout beside the Ravine North Site of Grace	Creates a Miranda Flower to summon a rain of light.

	Minor Erdtree	Unlock the secret area in the NE, the Hinterlands. From there, follow the sloping path until reaching Shaman Village where the incantation can be found in a field of flowers.	Summons a tree near the caster that heals them and all allies within the vicinity of it.
	Wrath From Afar	Use the lift in the Storehouse Loft Site of Grace in Shadow Keep. On the upper floor, turn left twice before finally turning right. Watch out for the bat while making your way to the ladder and heading up. At the top, take a left towards the giant gear without a bat and align with it. The spell will be found after dropping down behind the column.	Fires off a golden shockwave that will knock back enemies.
Frenzied Flame	Midra’s Flame of Frenzy	Can trade with Enia at the Roundtable Hold using the Remembrance of the Lord of Frenzied Flame, which is acquired after defeating Midra, if players do not choose the Greatsword of Damnation weapon instead.	Summons Lord of Frenzied Flame’s head to spew frenzied flame for as long as the player desires or until they run out of FP, whichever comes first.

Messmer Fire	Fire Serpent	In Shadow Keep, find the ladder near the Storehouse Site of Grace and climb it. Move through the enemies until you reach a balcony where the Incantation can be found.	Launches a serpent-like flame that will pursue an enemy.
	Messmer’s Orb	Can be traded with Enia at the Roundtable Hold in exchange for the Remembrance of the Impaler, as long as players do not opt for the Spear of the Impaler weapon instead.	Collects Messmer’s flame into a giant orb that moves towards enemies before exploding.
	Rain of Fire	From the West Rampart Site of Grace, take the bridge and use Torrent to avoid being trapped in the Rain of Fire. Defeat the Fire Knight enemy to obtain the Rain of Fire incantation.	Rains fire for a short period.
Spiral	Giant Golden Arc	Found in a chest inside the Ruins of Unte. Can be found in a floral area that is only reachable after using a hefty furnace pot and throwing it at the head of the deactivated furnace golem that blocks the entrance.	Releases a large golden arc with a simple swing.
	Golden Arcs	From the Shattered Stone Talisman Chest, drop to the nearest platform and continue down until reaching three inquisitors. Defeat them and head inside the small building nearby to find a chest containing this incantation.	Releases a procession of golden arcs with a simple swing.
	Spira	Go beyond the impenetrable thorns at the end of Blurat, Tower Settlement nd there will be an incantation on the small altar in front of the statue.	Summons a spiral of light that will erupt at the enemy’s feet.
Special	Watchful Spirit	Speak with Hornsent Grandam twice, while wearing the Divine Beast Head after defeating it, and she will give you this incantation.	Summon a guardian spirit over the caster
