Hoshina vs. Kaiju No. 10 Continues

Kaiju No. 8 episode 9, titled “Raid on Tachikawa Base,” begins with a flock of wyvern-type kaiju attacking the Tachikawa base while Kafka witnesses the scene from the rooftop. Hoshina alerts the officers, and they take a position to fight the kaiju.

While Hoshina attempts to read the situation, Kafka informs him that the wyvern-type kaiju usually fights alone. It so happens that a red-colored humanoid Daikaiju appears before Hoshina, revealing himself as the leader.

The Daikaiju is fascinated by Hoshina’s skills and attacks him, leading to a showdown. Elsewhere, Kafka helps the troops by strategizing attacks. Although his strategy works initially, the kaiju begin working in pairs, and his plan fails.

When the officers find difficulty in tackling the kaiju, Kikoru Shinomiya arrives with a huge ax-like custom weapon and easily kills the kaiju. The episode reveals that Hoshina and Mina Ashiro offered the weapon to Kikoru after considering her formidable strength.

The focus shifts to Hoshina, who lures the Daikaiju away from the troops and slashes through his whole body. However, the Daikaiju unleashes a fortitude of 9.0, indicating a threat to the vice-captain’s life.
