Home Alone 2 Star Found Guilty on 34 Felony Charges

Summary

  • Donald Trump found guilty of 34 felony charges in historic trial; faces max sentence of 136 years, sentencing set for July 11.
  • Former President Trump denies charges, claims trial was rigged; vows to keep fighting for country and Constitution.
  • Uncertain future for Trump’s acting career, upcoming projects; scheduled appeal process and Republican National Convention ahead.

One of the major recurring themes of the Home Alone franchise (aside from always doing a head count), it’s that crime doesn’t pay. One of the most famous stars of the excellent second installment in the series, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, has just learned this the hard way. That’s right, screaming thespian and one-time steak salesman Donald J.(ail) Trump has been found guilty of 34 felony charges by a jury of his peers today, May 30, 2024. This may mark the end of his long film career, which began in 1989 with his appearance in the music video for “On Our Own” by the many-times-convicted felon Bobby Brown.

From there, Donald Trump played memorable roles that remain a fixture in the cultural canon, such as Donald Trump in All My Children, Waldo’s Dad in The Little Rascals (1994), Donald Trump in The Nanny, Donald Trump in Suddenly Susan, VIP Patron in 54, Donald Trump in Days of Our Lives, and the President of the United States in 2016 through 2020. But perhaps his greatest performance came in the legendary Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, in which he starred opposite famous faces like alleged rapist Devin Ratray and the beloved pigeon lady.

Fox News was one among every news outlet to report the 34 felony charges of Mr. Trump, writing:

“Former President Trump was found guilty on all counts in his historic and unprecedented criminal trial, making him the first former President of the United States to be convicted of a crime. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged former President Donald Trump with 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree […] Each count carries a maximum prison sentence of 4 years. In total, Trump faces a maximum sentence of 136 years.”

“Sentencing for the former president will be July 11 at 10:00 a.m–just five days before the start of the Republican National Convention, where he is expected to be formally nominated as the 2024 Republican presidential nominee. Any motions will need to be filed by June 13th. Prosecutors needed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump falsified those records to conceal a $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels, a pornographic performer, in the lead-up to the 2016 election to silence her about an alleged affair with Trump in 2006.”

For whatever reason, presidential candidate Donald Trump has taken to using one of film history’s greatest villains as part of his speeches.

Donald Trump’s Response to Being a Convicted Felon on 34 Counts

Donald Trump yelled into the echoing hallway outside the courtroom, telling reporters:

“This was a disgrace. This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt as a rigged trial and disgrace. It wouldn’t give us a venue change. We were at five percent or 6% in this district, in this area. This was a rigged, disgraceful trial […] The real verdict is going to be November 5th by the people. And they know what happened here and everybody knows what happened here. You have a Soros-backed DA and the whole thing.”

The extremely emotional man, tears in his eyes, added:

We didn’t do anything wrong. I’m a very innocent man. And it’s okay. I’m fighting for our country. I’m fighting for our Constitution. Our whole country is being rigged right now.

“And I think it’s just a disgrace,” added the current combination-Bible-and-Constitution salesman. “And we’ll keep fighting — we’ll fight till the end, and we’ll win because our country’s gone to hell. We don’t have the same country anymore. We have a divided mess. We’re a nation of decline, serious decline.”

There will certainly be a lot to parse out in the following weeks, as the convicted felon prepares for both the appeal process and the Republican National Convention. We’ll learn more about his sentencing, possible jail time or probation, and his many other felony counts in other courts across the country at a later date. It’s unclear whether the actor’s upcoming project, Donald Trump: Not One Thing Is Cheaper Under Crooked Joe (in which he plays the role of “Sellf,” according to IMDb) will receive its planned release. Watch this space, but for now, it’s safe to say that Donald Trump is Lost in New York.
