While there’s only one film headed to the streaming service next month, there are plenty of returning and new television shows viewers are sure to love.



From returning comedies to new dramas, the series arriving in the coming weeks are most certainly shows every subscriber will want to explore. If nothing else, audiences are guaranteed to be inspired by Apple TV+’s newest documentary feature, which everyone should add to their watchlist. While there might not be a variety of genres offered on the platform next month, there’s still a slew of quality programming slated for release. No matter what a viewer’s preference might be, there’s undoubtedly something worth watching in the mix of Apple TV+’s options for April.



Loot (Season 2)

Loot is a comedy series about a woman named Molly Wells (Maya Rudolph) whose recent divorce settlement with her tech billionaire husband of 20 years suddenly makes her one of the wealthiest people on the planet. In response to her newfound status, she goes on a worldwide bender that ultimately leaves her with an existential midlife crisis. She subsequently takes a more active role in the charitable organization she founded and finds herself in the process. As Season 2 begins, a better, more self-aware Molly pledges to give away her billions while doing her best to change the world through her charitable work. Loot Season 2 is streaming on Apple TV+ on Apr. 3.


Sugar (Limited Series)

Sugar follows John Sugar (Colin Farrell), a troubled private detective who takes on a case connected to dark secrets no one wants to be revealed. As he struggles with his own personal demons, he’s hired by a legendary Hollywood producer to find the man’s granddaughter, Olivia Siegel (Sydney Chandler), who has gone missing.

The deeper Sugar delves into Olvia’s disappearance, the more he discovers about her family’s recent and long-buried secrets. As such, the closer he gets to the truth, the more dangerous his situation becomes. A noir show, the series also stars Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Amy Ryan, Dennis Boutsikaris, James Cromwell, and Anna Gunn. Sugar is streaming on Apple TV+ on Apr. 5.


Franklin (Limited Series)

Based on the book published in 2005, A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America by Stacy Schiff, Franklin tells the story of Benjamin Franklin’s (Michael Douglas) efforts to enlist the help of the French in the American Revolution. The series chronicles the eight years Franklin spent abroad as he outmaneuvered British spies and French informers to craft an alliance between France and the emerging United States.

In a program with 500 participants, the documentary focuses on a small group of girls as they share their experience with Girls State and express their hopes for a future where women lead the way and hold governmental positions of power.
