Deadpool & Wolverine Popcorn Bucket Will Make Dune 2’s NSFW Release Look Tame

Deadpool & Wolverine Popcorn Bucket Will Make Dune 2’s NSFW Release Look Tame

Summary

  • An unintentionally inappropriate popcorn bucket made a stir for
    Dune: Part Two
    , but
    Deadpool & Wolverine’
s accessory will be intentionally crude.
  • Deadpool & Wolverine
    is

expected to outshine previous Marvel releases this summer.
  • The R-rated Deadpool franchise will challenge family-friendly Marvel movies with its commercial success in 2024.

Dune: Part Two may have unintentionally created a NSFW popcorn bucket, but there will be nothing accidental about Deadpool & Wolverine’s cinema accessory doing the same. There have been several well-planned and thought-out popcorn buckets released across various theater chains in the last few years, but Dune: Part Two’s sandworm creation ended up causing a stir for all the wrong reasons – something that Kevin Feige has teased will be happening again for the upcoming Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman blockbuster.

If anyone was going to come out with a popcorn bucket to rival that of Dune: Part Two in the inappropriate stakes, then it was always going to be Deadpool. While appearing at CinemaCon, Feige confirmed the inevitable promotional item will not disappoint. He said:

Deadpool & Wolverine is getting a popcorn bucket which will be intentionally crude and lewd.

Although Feige did not elaborate on exactly what form the bucket could take, there are many options that are viable. Whether anyone will want to stick their hand into any orifice offered up by the item for their snacks is a completely different matter. We continue to wait with bated breath to find out just how bad this is going to get.

Deadpool & Wolverine is Going to be Marvel’s Biggest Movie in Years

Although Marvel Studios is known for delivering up to four movies a year, 2024 is relying on Deadpool & Wolverine to collect a box office gross that puts last year’s disappointment of releases like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels into a sealed box and bury it forever. So far it looks like the return of Ryan Reynold’s rude, crude and overly violent Merc with a Mouth is going to not only be one of the biggest box office successes of the year, but could also manage to make more money than any non-Spider-Man Marvel movie of the last five years.

Despite its R-rating, Deadpool has always been a huge draw for fans, and very much like Warner Bros. Joker, the movies released in the franchise have surpassed expectations on their release. Deadpool & Wolverine will continue this trend, and despite its restrictive rating, the film will put many of Marvel Studios’ more family-friendly offerings in the shade.

Deadpool & Wolverine Star Pleads With MCU Fans Not to Spoil Sequel: ‘There’s a Lot of Surprises’

Karan Soni hopes that Marvel fans won’t spoil all the “surprises” that Deadpool & Wolverine has in store.

However, Deadpool & Wolverine is also going to have some competition outside the MCU when it comes to being the biggest comic book movie of the year. While there seems to be very little competition coming from the direction of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe offerings, Joker: Folie à Deux is also setting itself up as a potential billion-dollar box office success later in the year. 2024 has strangely set itself up as the year of alternative superhero movies – with no PG-13 DCU or MCU movies being released – and it is already looking like one of the most successful in years.

Deadpool & Wolverine
will arrive in theaters – with its lewd popcorn bucket – on July 26, 2024.
