Charlie Cox Teases Return of Fan-Favorite Fight Scenes in Daredevil: Born Again

Summary

  • Daredevil: Born Again
will feature the fan-favorite one-shot fight scenes, a staple of the live-action adaptation.
  • Audiences can expect to see Matt Murdock taking down multiple assailants in what looks like one unbroken take.
  • The series will be inspired by the
    Mayor Fisk
comic book arc, with Vincent D’Onofrio returning as Kingpin.

Marvel star Charlie Cox has teased the return of a fan-favorite of the Netflix Daredevil series inDaredevil: Born Againthe one-shot fight scenes. During a recent appearance at Fan Expo in Boston, Cox confirmed that the “oner” will be back in the upcoming Disney+ series, meaning that audiences will once again see The Man Without Fear taking down multiple assailants (no doubt in a cramped space) and all in what looks like one, unbroken take. Check out what Cox had to say about the return of the oner in Daredevil: Born Again below…

“Those fans who are excited by [oners] will not be disappointed.”

The one-shot fight scenes have become something of a staple for the Daredevil live-action adaptation. Beginning with the astonishing ‘hallway fight’ in season 1, Cox’s Matt Murdock has since battled crime in oners in every season since, with season 2 taking place in a stairwell, while season 3 saw the super-powered lawyer fighting his way out of a prison.

No doubt the confirmation that Daredevil: Born Again will continue this tradition will have MCU fans even more excited for the series than they already are.

Plot details for Daredevil: Born Again have yet to be officially confirmed, but rumors and recent set images have seemingly revealed that the series will indeed be inspired by the comic book arc Mayor Fisk, which finds New York falling to The Kingpin as he becomes the city’s newly elected mayor. The story finds Matt Murdock working for Fisk, with the Kingpin of Crime using his talent for spin and false philanthropy to wage a war against costumed vigilantes.

Daredevil: Born Again Is Now Scheduled to Premiere on Disney+ in March 2025

Bringing Daredevil back to screens following the character’s acclaimed Netflix run (which was unceremoniously canceled alongside other Marvel shows Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and more) has been surprisingly difficult. Reports from last year revealed that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige had been left unhappy with the direction of the reboot, firing all the writers and directors and rebuilding the show from the ground up. The Punisher producer Dario Scardapane will now serve as showrunner with Loki duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead as lead directors.

While the series was not intended to be a continuation of the Netflix saga, this has now been changed, with returning star Vincent D’Onofrio confirming to TV Insider that “It originally wasn’t going to be at all, but now it’s a lot.”
