Bri Muller’s Joe Jealousy Is Immature (She’s Being Selfish)

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 has introduced Bri Muller as one of the Stews on Mustique, and her attitude about a potential boatmance between her fellow Stew Elena Dubaich and Lead Deckhand Joe Bradley leaves a lot to be desired. While Bri and Elena are both working under Chief Stew Aesha Scott, their time is mostly spent together from charter to charter. Elena, who originally appeared on Below Deck Mediterranean season 7 for a few episodes before joining Below Deck Med season 9, has taken Bri under her wing throughout the first charters, hopeful to help the new Stew adjust.

While Bri has been part of charters in the past, she explained in the premiere of Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 that she has never actually finished a charter season. She’s worked as a Stew before, but has very little knowledge about what’s going on in a private charter. Bri and Elena have been doing a decent job working together, and Elena has been doing her best to prepare Bri for some of the realities of working aboard a superyacht. Though the two have been working together, both Bri and Elena have expressed attraction for the new Lead Deckhand Joe.

3 Bri & Elena Are Both Interested In Lead Deckhand Joe

While Bri and Elena have been discussing nearly everything to do with their time on the Mustique in depth, their mutual crushes on Lead Deckhand Joe have been kept quiet. Bri, who is a few years younger than Elena, has been vocal about not liking anyone on the crew when asked if there’s anyone she’s attracted to. Though Elena was doing her best to keep her head in her work, she developed a bit of an attraction to Joe in the first days of the charter season. She’d talked to Bri about finding him attractive but tried to be casual.

Though Elena was clear that she was attracted to Joe, Bri still let herself get to a point during a crew night out where she was feeling jealous of Elena’s interest in him. Bri, who has been working hard to improve her skills as a Stew, hasn’t done much in terms of making a move on Joe. Even though she hasn’t expressed her attraction or tried to make any moves on Joe, Bri was incredibly upset at the idea of Elena and Joe being into each other aboard Mustique.

2 Bri Told Elena She Wasn’t Interested In Anyone Aboard Mustique

During the early moments of the charter, Elena and Bri were put into the same bunk and began to bond as colleagues. Though they weren’t necessarily close friends, Elena and Bri were working toward a friendship. Living as bunkmates, they were open about everything that was happening aboard the superyacht, but Bri chose not to share that she was finding herself attracted to Lead Deckhand Joe. While Elena wasn’t sure if she was entirely sure what she was feeling yet, she did admit to Bri that she found Joe attractive.

Though Bri was likely uncertain about her feelings for Joe, the fact that she knew she was attracted to him and chose not to say something to one of the few other women aboard Mustique wasn’t the smartest decision. Even if Elena was interested in pursuing Joe and would be aside from Bri’s feelings, the fact that she didn’t know about Bri’s attraction to Joe made it so she couldn’t make an informed decision about their relationship. With Bri keeping her feelings to herself, she made it impossible for Elena to consider her in her decisions.

1 Bri’s Attitude Is Proving She’s Immature & Selfish

During a crew night out, Elena and Joe were dancing and it quickly became clear that Bri was jealous of their connection. Despite the fact that she hadn’t spoken up about her attraction to Joe, Bri was annoyed that she wasn’t getting Joe’s attention and had to watch him interact with Elena, who he was interested in flirting with. Bri shared with Gael Cameron that she was interested in Joe and feeling jealous, and when she was able to get Joe alone, she made her attraction clear.

While Bri’s behavior wasn’t kind and will undoubtedly make her relationship with Elena more difficult, she chose to put herself and the attraction she was feeling toward Joe before everything else. Though Bri knew what she was doing, she made it clear that she didn’t really care if she was offending anyone. Bri’s actions were immature and selfish, proving that she hasn’t been able to make a genuine bond with Elena, or at least doesn’t care about her feelings. Bri’s age has never been more abundantly clear, and the fact that she put herself before anyone else on the Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 crew was harsh.
