The Afghan embassy in London is set to seal after the Taliprohibit sacked all staff based there.
Afghanistan’s ambasdowncastor to the UK, Zalmai Rassoul, shelp in a post on X the embassy will seal on 27 September “at the official ask of the present country”.
The shift trails the Taliprohibit‘s proclaimment in July it would no extfinisheder recognise embassies set up by the previous regime – including the leave oution in Kensington.
Mr Rassoul shelp: “We thank and appreciate all colleagues, citizens, and joind institutions who have genuinely co-functiond with the Afghan Embassy in London during this period.”
A spokesman for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office shelp: “The embassy is being seald follotriumphg the disponderal of its staff by the Taliprohibit.”
Many Afghan embassies in Europe persistd to function after the descfinish of Kabul in August 2021, but others, including the posting in Washington DC, have been forced to seal.
The Taliprohibit is not recognised by the UK as the legitimate regulatement of Afghanistan and shiftd its embassy from Kabul to Qatar.

The British regulatement has previously shelp there is “no changenative to engaging authenticisticassociate with the current administration”.
The UK persists to labor with other nations to provide humanitarian help to the Afghan people, according to the regulatement.
